這個團隊嚐試了55種高血壓藥，結果發現 valsartan 這種 Angiotensin II receptor antagonist有抑制某種腦中 β-amyloid protein 形成的效果，換言之，有機會能夠治療 Alzheimer Disease ！
不過這僅僅只是動物實驗階段的研究而已，之前 estrogen 在preclinical study 看起來也很不錯，但是 clinical trial 階段成效不彰。
